What Is An LEPC?
The Jefferson County LEPC meets the second Thursday of every month at 6:00 p.m. in the conference room at the terminal building of the Madison Municipal Airport. All LEPC data is kept on file at the Jefferson County Health Department, and is available during business hours upon request. All information requested shall be returned in seven working days.

Tornado and Emergency Awareness
There are five sirens located within the City of Madison that have been activated using two different signals and two at Hanover College. Township Fire Departments may have limited siren notification abilities; contact them in advance for information.

What Are Hazardous Materials?
A hazardous material is any material that, because of its quantity, concentration, or physical characteristics, poses a significant present or potential hazard to human health and safety or to the environment if released into the home, workplace, or the environment.

Emergency Planning
What happens if there is a real emergency involving a release or spill of toxic chemicals on any local transportation route or facility? This article will provide the information you need in the event of such an incident. Following are the notification procedures, checklist of actions and what to expect if an evacuation order is given in your area.

Evacuation Checklist
- Listen to the local radio stations and follow directions.

- Bring all necessary medications.

- Make arrangements for your pets.

- Bring any family disaster supplies (see Disaster Supply Checklist).
